I.T. Work

Before I became a stay at home mom, I used to work as an Information Technology (I.T.) Professional. I started off as a customer support specialist until I became an applications support specialist. I also did a bit of web development and software testing and installation. I remember that there are many types of software testing which includes performance testing, platform compatibility testing, and content testing. Nowadays, there are separate companies who specialize in quality assurance testing services. They provide product development services and quality check and testing as well. This will save time and effort for the company who needs to support a rather large corporation.

Having an I.T. background, I think going back to the I.T. field after not working for more than 8 years is difficult. Hopefully, something is waiting for me in the software support area. But who knows what kind of opportunities the Lord has in store for me?

If you are wondering where have I been? I hardly have been updating this site for the past weeks. I have been thinking of doing something new with Inspirational Insights... I want to feature people who have been giving inspiration to others whatever field they may be in. If you know of any one who fits this category or if you have a personal favorite who inspires you, do leave me a comment and your email address.

Aside from this, I have been quite busy with homeschooling my kids. It has been an exciting journey and of course, I have been reading other homeschooling blogs for more ideas too.

My Life Story With the Internet

So how has the Internet affected my life? Let’s see...

I can still remember when I started to enjoy the Internet in 1995. We just got our new computer and we had Windows 95 installed. It was a huge change from the DOS system we had before. But what is interesting is that our computer can now connect to the Internet. I was instantly hooked. I was an avid user of the BBS or Bulletin Board System and chatted the night away. I was instantly hooked and the Internet became a part of my life. I became interested in web page designing later and created my own site hosted by Geocities. Of course, it didn’t end there, I became interested to have my own domain and to find a good company who offers web site hosting.

My first work was with an ISP or Internet Service Provider. I was their client but I applied as an OJT or On-The-Job Trainee. After I graduated, I applied and work as a Technical Support Specialist but not long, I moved on to an American Telecoms company as part of their CIO or IT Team.

Now that I am a Stay At Home mom, I am glad that we have DSL connection at home. I started to blog in the year 2008 and have been enjoying it since then. Certainly, the Internet has greatly affected my life. Wouldn’t you say? How about you?

My Glasses

I love books and I love reading them. It is like being carried away to a new place and experiencing something new whenever I read them. I also love looking at pictures and postcards. Its like I am travelling without leaving the house. I also love watching TV series and movies. I love reading different blogs. I love jotting down and making lists. It is only now that I have realized that I love using my eyes. I am really a visual person and that I am a visual learner as well.

Taking care of my eyes wasn’t really that a big deal to me when I was younger, but now, I realized that I have to be more careful. My mom and dad both wear glasses. My hubby wears them too. I wear them from time to time, when I have to sit in front of the computer for an extended period of time. But I haven’t been used to wearing one so I usually don’t wear it. I was told that I have astigmatism. So I have to wear those glasses to have it corrected or prevent it from getting worse.

So, do you think my glasses suit me?

Pastors and Wives Fellowship

Today, we went to Greenhills Christian Fellowship (GCF) in Ortigas to attend the Pastors and Wives Fellowship. It was my first time to attend such an event and was quite excited to meet other pastors and their wives from GCF. We went there with the kids. They came from different outreaches and I got to meet and talk to a few of them. We also prayed for each other. It is good to know that there are other wives who are in the same situation as I am and it was a reminder that God will sustain me and see me through every situation He puts me in.

I hope to meet with other pastor's wives more regularly in the coming months. I think this should be an action item for me.

Three Things You Didn't Know About Me:


1. I am Chinese by blood (both parents are Chinese, Filipino (born and raised here in the Philippines) by heart.
2. I have a Filipino husband. At the beginning, my parents opposed to us since he is of a different race. But, God worked out everything.
3. I learned American Sign Language in college. I really enjoyed it. I had a lot of Deaf friends, but haven't seen them or been with them since I graduated.

Who Am I?

Inspirational Insights is my 2nd blog site and its still quite new. This is where I post about my insights in life, spiritual and otherwise. My first ever blog is The Mommy Journey. I have started blogging 10 months ago and I have really enjoyed it as I have met other mommy bloggers in and out of my country.

I am known in the blogsphere as Chris, a Stay At Home Mom to 2 kids under 6 and a wife to hubby who is currently an assistant pastor (who is considering full time pastoring).

I am interested in movies, books, music and the stuff which comes with the Internet. I am interested in traveling since I love to meet people and learn about different cultures. I am a follower of Jesus Christ. I am truly blessed!
