Kyla's school had their field trip and I attended with her. It is our first time together since I wasn't able to go with her last year... We had fun together! We went to Nissin Monde here in Sta Rosa Laguna, then to Rizal Shrine in Calamba then to Bluroze in Batangas and Badaco Farm. Here are some shots from that day!

This is our picture just before we left the house..

Taken from Rizal Shrine.

Picnic time at Bluroze Batangas.

Kyla chasing the birds!

Peacock!

Enjoying the duyan...

We even tried the maze and had fun inside... though we weren't sure if we would find the way out!

Milking cows...

Yummy fresh milk!

It was an experience to remember!

Financial Concerns

Since January, my hubby has decided to go full-time in his being an assistant pastor in the church where we worship. He has been a part-time assistant pastor for the past year before deciding to leave the I.T. corporate world. So far, he said he is enjoying ministering to people and being able to preach God’s word to more people.

As a family, we are definitely adjusting to our financial income. It is tough but God has never failed to provide for our daily needs. Though we face new challenges, just like the recent health news we received that he is a diabetic, life gets more challenging. It is also time to teach the kids the value of money. At their young age, they are learning what it means save... and to deny themselves, to want something and not be able to buy it.

We definitely have a lot to pay for... and sometimes, I just don’t know where we will get the money to pay for our monthly bills and extra expenses. I wish I could have enrolled myself in UK debt management so that our debt with the banks won’t become any bigger.

But at the end of the day, the Lord never forgets us. We experience his goodness and faithfulness. We become living testimonies of God’s love and faithfulness.

Friday Photo Flashback # 39

This photo was taken in the year 2000 or late 1999.
I am with my close friends who I met at the church.
We were all from the youth group then.
2 of them are now out of the country and I don't get to see much of the other one who is left since we have moved. 3 of us are now married.
There are days that I miss them but I know that God has plans for each of us..
Thank God for Facebook :) Can easily stay in touch with them now!
Even if our lives have taken their own turns, they would always be special to me!

Our Car

Our car is turning 8 years old this March. I can't believe it! It has been 8 years. We have shared a lot of memories in this car. It is our first major purchase as a couple. It has witnessed our trials and triumphs. We have seen places and been to different places. I know, I am getting sentimental. I just can’t help it!

Because we feel that the car has been a very loyal and productive part of our family, it undergoes maintenance and repairs in repair shops that cater to customers with care and quality like Dallas auto repair. We have recently changed our brake pads. It is a good thing that we did this brake job just in time, because our brake pads have been worn out and almost is causing damage to the brake rotors without us knowing!

If you are asking if we have ever thought of replacing our car since it is now 8 years old, well, we have once thought of getting pick up trucks like The Chevrolet Silverado. Since this kind of vehicle can haul anything and can be used for business. But as of now, we are still content with the service of our car.

My pick for today's theme is A FEW GOOD MEN.

I know that this movie is quite old but it is one of the classics that I still remember!
The actors were superb here! Truly an all star cast!

One of the most memorable quotes from the movie:
Kaffee: I want the truth!
Col. Jessep: [shouts] You can’t handle the truth!

How Majestic Are You, O Lord!

1 O LORD, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory
above the heavens.

2 From the lips of children and infants
you have ordained praise
because of your enemies,
to silence the foe and the avenger.

3 When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,

4 what is man that you are mindful of him,
the son of man that you care for him?

5 You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings
and crowned him with glory and honor.

6 You made him ruler over the works of your hands;
you put everything under his feet:

7 all flocks and herds,
and the beasts of the field,

8 the birds of the air,
and the fish of the sea,
all that swim the paths of the seas.

9 O LORD, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!

Psalm 8

I'm Thankful Today!

Another day is over... and I still have so many things in my mind that I have to do. I am such a "to-do" list person... It is important to me to list down things that I want to accomplish. It gives me great satisfaction when I check off my to-do list!

But sometimes, I have to remind myself not to look at my list, but instead, have fun and let go... Enjoy the time I have with the kids and not to be too pressured with the things I have to accomplish. Be thankful for today for it will never come again.

So today, I just want pause and to be thankful to the Lord for all that is in my life... the Lord Jesus, my family, friends, errands, chores, blessings and my things-to-do... I want to do all these for the Lord. May every action I make bring glory to His name!

Tuesday Couch Potatoes : Girl Power

My pick for today's theme GIRL POWER is Mona Lisa Smile!

This movie starred Julia Roberts, Kirsten Dunst and Julia Stiles... It is an interesting movie to watch... as it challenges the norms and what people are used to.

Here is a summary taken from IMDB.com
Katherine Ann Watson has accepted a position teaching art history at the prestigious Wellesley College. Watson is a very modern woman, particularly for the 1950s, and has a passion not only for art but for her students. For the most part, the students all seem to be biding their time, waiting to find the right man to marry. The students are all very bright and Watson feels they are not reaching their potential. Altough a strong bond is formed between teacher and student, Watson's views are incompatible with the dominant culture of the college.

This is me and my sister!
My little brother hasn't been born yet by this time...
My sister and I are four years apart.
We didn't always see things eye to eye when we were young but when we were adults already, she and I became close. We talk about almost everything and I am glad that she is my closest friend too.

I am also grateful to her that she invited me to join her in one of the worship services she attends in 20 years ago which allowed me to hear the gospel for the first time.

My Thoughts About Recent Catastrophies

The Earthquake in Haiti is really just one of the many devastation that has been happening around the globe. The return of the Lord Jesus really is coming soon. With so many global issues, calamities and tragedies, we really need to turn to the Lord. We need to be right with Him. Before it is too late.

Life on earth is not just about earning more money, or becoming famous, or accumulating wealth. Because in a glance, all these can be gone. Just like what our country has recently experienced in the different typhoons and the fires which hit the different parts of the Metro. This is the time when we need to be right with God and we can only do that by turning from our sinful life and acknowledging Jesus as the Lord of our life. Obeying Him fully and following Him while we are here on earth.

Then and only then, everything we do, will have a purpose and a meaning.

Premium Photobooks

I love photos! Whether taking them or looking at them... I just love photos. It brings back great memories and allows me to visit places I have never been to. One of my favorite albums to look at is our Wedding album. I wish I have softcopies of the photos so that I can avail of Photo Productions’ Premium Photobooks.

They specialize on photobooks for special occasions. Wedding albums, christening, birthdays, graduations and anniversaries are just some of the events worth putting in photobooks. I have been looking for such a company who delivers premium photobook services with less cost! They provide full online proofing of the Photobook designs too. It is good to know that Photo Productions also ship internationally.

My New Year's Goal

As a new year starts, it comes with great hope that we can achieve our goals for the year. This 2010, my goal is to read through the Bible. I have been inconsistent lately with my devotions and Bible reading... so this year, with God's grace, I will be able to spend more time reading God's word.

To help me become more consistent with my Bible reading, I am using Bible Gateway Reading Plans. If you still haven't read through the Bible, try it! The Bible is a must read book. So rich with stories and teachings which can help us in living our lives!

I felt like a kid again as I watched DISNEY ON ICE with my kids on New Year's Day! It brought back memories of my own childhood as we used to watch shows with my parents when we were still small...

It was such a wonderful experience and I am so grateful that my sister sponsored us to be able to watch the show! My kids had a grand time too!
