Then Sings My Soul Saturdays - Cinderella

A beautiful song from a dad to her little girl... It speaks of wanting to cherish every moment with your little girl because one day, she would be grown up and she will have her own life.
This song is written and sung by Steven Curtis Chapman.

Cinderella

She spins and she sways to whatever song plays,
Without a care in the world.
And I'm sittin' here wearin' the weight of the world on my shoulders.
It's been a long day and there's still work to do,
She's pulling at me saying "Dad I need you!
There's a ball at the castle and I've been invited and I need to practice my dancin'"
"Oh please, daddy, please!"

So I'll dance with Cinderella
While she is here in my arms
'Cause I know something the prince never knew
Oh I'll dance with Cinderella
I don't wanna miss even one song,
Cuz all too soon the clock will strike midnight
And she'll be gone

She says he's a nice guy and I'd be impressed
She wants to know if I approve of the dress
She says "Dad, the prom is just one week away,
And I need to practice my dancin'"
"Oh please, daddy, please!"

So I'll dance with Cinderella
While she is here in my arms
'Cause I know something the prince never knew
Ohh-oh ohh-oh, I'll dance with Cinderella
I don't wanna miss even one song,
Cuz all too soon the clock will strike midnight
And she'll be gone
She will be gone.

she came home today
With a ring on her hand
Just glowin' and tellin' us all they had planned
She says "Dad, the wedding's still six months away
but I need to practice my dancin'"
"Oh please, daddy please!"

So I'll dance with Cinderella
While she is here in my arms
'Cause I know something the prince never knew
Ohh-oh ohh-oh, I'll dance with Cinderella
I don't wanna miss even one song,
(even one song)
Cuz all too soon the clock will strike midnight
And she'll be gone

Friday Photo Flashback # 18

This is my first and only picture with my favorite celebrity, Gary Valenciano, and I had my eyes closed when the shot was taken!?! This was taken after watching his concert in 1992 I think. We waited for him backstage and when he accommodated us for some photo shoot, I was too happy and thus, the picture. Of course, those days, you couldn't see the picture without developing the film. Lo and behold, I was so unhappy when I saw how the picture turned out. Since only one shot was taken, I still treasured this picture a lot.

I am thankful that I have overcome my "fear" of cooking. I am finally cooking for my family! :)
I am thankful that he has been leading me all along. For giving me an opportunity to be an intentional parent.
I want to thank the Lord because he gives me hope every day and his love sustains me through it all.

Details About Kids

When the kids are still small, its always fun to dress them up! Designer baby clothes like appaman and barefoot dreams pajamas are very suitable for toddlers and kids. I like their cool style!

I also love it when toddlers get attached to a certain toy for their security. It looks so cute! When my eldest was still a toddler, she used to carry a bear wherever she goes. Naturally, she has outgrown that phase already. Now, my little boy who is a toddler, loves jellycat stuffed toys! He treats them as his pets. But he has a shorter attention span. In a few minutes, he would be switching toys. He would play with haba toys. He needs toys which are durable since he would throw his toys while playing them.

Details like these are appreciated by moms like me, who stay at home and want to watch my kids grow up. This is one of the reasons why I chose to be a SAHM so that I can know the tinyest details about my kids as they grow up.

Araw Ng Dilaw

Today marks the 26th death anniversary of Ninoy Aquino. He has done so much for our country... He sacrificed his life in the belief that the Filipinos are worth dying for.

On August 21, 2009,
Make Ninoy and Cory’s spirit of sacrifice live within you.
Sa Araw ng Dilaw,
Wear something yellow.
Light a yellow candle
to remember Ninoy and Cory’s love for the Filipino.

And if you’re on the road on that day
Keep the flame of Ninoy and Cory burning.
Along with a thousand other cars, switch on your hazard lights from 6pm to 7pm and spread the country’s Yellow Spark far and wide.

I want to share with you this video... let us remember his love for the Philippines and how we should love our country too....

My question:
What is your favorite vacation?
Mine was when we went to Boracay beach during our honeymoon... the beach was great and the sand was really fine like powdered milk!

How Old Is Old?

I was tagged by Sherry.

Cathara is asking How old is old? Well, I certainly believe that you are old—when you think you are old. It is not a matter of physical age, but more of a matter of the mind. It depends on one’s perspective of things. Old is when you “feel” and “think” you are too old for a certain activity. When you no longer want to participate because of your age- that is old to me.

Hopefully, that made sense. How about you? How old is old? I’m tagging Pehpot, Kikamz, Yami, Jacris and Seiko.

Drop by Cathara Main to see mechanics of this contest too.

My question:
If you have kids, would you homeschool them or not? Why?
The reason I am asking this is because I am considering homeschooling my kids for the next school year... I am still praying about it and researching if it is feasible here in the Philippines.

Prayer for a Happy Death by Cory Aquino

This is the poem made by President Cory Aquino before she passed away....

Prayer for a Happy Death

Almighty God, most merciful Father
You alone know the time
You alone know the hour
You alone know the moment
When I shall breathe my last.

So, remind me each day,
most loving Father
To be the best that I can be.
To be humble, to be kind,
To be patient, to be true.
To embrace what is good,
To reject what is evil,
To adore only You.

When the final moment does come
Let not my loved ones grieve for long.
Let them comfort each other
And let them know
how much happiness
They brought into my life.
Let them pray for me,
As I will continue to pray for them,
Hoping that they will always pray
for each other.

Let them know that they made possible
Whatever good I offered to our world.
And let them realize that our separation
Is just for a while
As we prepare for our reunion in eternity.

Our Father in heaven,
You alone are my hope.
You alone are my salvation.
Thank you for your unconditional love, Amen.

Thankful Thursday # 9

Thank you Lord for another week of your faithfulness!

On August 1, our former President Cory Aquino passed away.

She was our icon of democracy and today, as I watched the Necrological service, I was just at awe at how honest and caring she really was. When she was our president, I was too young to care. But now, after 23 years, I have understood and appreciated what she has done for our country.

Today, I am just thankful for her life and her courage for taking a stand and doing all that she did 23 years ago. For fighting for our country's democracy. I am thankful that her life has inspired so many Filipinos to take pride in being a Filipino. I am thankful that God has used her to spark a flame of nationalism in our hearts.

I am also thankful that I have seen how she lived her life and it is serving as an inspiration and challenge to me. She chose to be live a full life ministering to others in every little way she can.

How about you? What are you thankful for today?

Rotten Smell

A few weeks ago, something was smelly in our room. We couldn't see where the smell was coming from, but we were certain something was rotten because we could all smell it. We searched and finally, we found a bird's nest under our AC unit. There were dead birds.

We can try to hide our sins, but sooner or later, they will surface. Just like the foul smell in our bedroom. It was because of its stench that we found where the smell was coming from. So in our life, as we try to cover up our sins, the stench of our sins will eventually caught up with us!

Goodbye, Cory Aquino

Cory Aquino was and is an inspiration to many Filipinos. She sacrificed her quiet life as a home maker for her country. She embraced the dream of her husband as her own. She showed simplicity even when she can be otherwise. She was truly an icon. I will always remember her as a loving mother, wife and leader.

Thank you for giving so much for our country.
