Extravagant Grace

Sometimes with everything that we need to do, our hearts can be filled with everything else but not with the Spirit. Today, I am so reminded to spend MORE time with Jesus daily... be FILLED with the SPIRIT so that I can heed the direction I need to take.

Thankful Thursday # 31

Last Tuesday night, a typhoon hit our country. As I have blogged about our experience on my other site, it was really terrifying to hear the wind and the roof! Well, the next day, when I checked upon our roof, true enough, a lot of the Asphalt Shingles flew away! Today, I am just thankful that aside from that, nothing bad has happened to our house and our family. And I am also thankful that we were able to have our roof fixed already.

With all that is happening in the world, we can't help but think that we are really living in the end times. So we need to be prepared... This is a timely reminder for all of us.

Extravagant Grace

This is a verse which gives me strength and hope in my every day life! With all the chores I have to do, homeschooling my kids and blogging, I know that it is only through the grace of God that I can do all of these without losing focus on why I am doing it all. I know that it is Jesus who gives me strength and wisdom.

If you are facing challenges yourself, don't lose hope and don't lose sight of Jesus!

I find so much wisdom in her posts and also, there are several challenges for women like me. I love the Living Intentionally Together and all the Bible verses that she shares... so if you are looking for an inspirational site to follow, check this site out!

On Saturday evening, I was glad that we were able to go out to eat in a restaurant which offered good Chinese food at low prices! Above all, I was quite happy that we were able to spend dinner together without needing to hurry or to be some place else afterwards. Its really nice to spend time with family. That to me, is priceless!

This week, I am thankful to God because we are able to harvest fruit from our own backyard. We were able to pick these calamansi fruits the other day...
It is so great that we don't really need to worry and God does provide for us, doesn't He?
What a great and faithful God we have!

Our Search for Significance

As humans, we all long to be loved and accepted. Most of the time, we look for this love and acceptance at the wrong places too. We try to put our best efforts to become lovable. But even with our best efforts, we can never find lasting and fulfilling peace if we have to continually prove ourselves to others. We base our self-worth on how we perform or on how others see us.

But that is not the biblical self- worth. Our search for significance can only be answered by God. This hunger for self-worth within us is God-given and can only be satisfied by Him. Our value is not dependent on our ability to earn the acceptance of people but rather, its true source is the love and acceptance of God.

The Mystery of History

My daughter is enjoying her World History class... so far. :) We are using Mystery of History. The history is based on the Bible's timing and narrates history as it happens. I also find it interesting myself! We are using Volume I, from Creation to Christ.

We also created a timeline as suggested by the author of the book and we update the time line with the people and events as we go along. It definitely makes studying history more interesting! :)

Thankful Thursday # 29

This week, I am thankful to God because finally, our family has annual health insurance coverage thru my hubby's employment! It includes doctor's fee, hospital stays at accredited hospitals and dental check-up too. This is such a huge blessing!

I am also thankful that our country had a peaceful transition to a new president today! He was inaugurated today and in his speech, was able to encourage the Filipinos somehow... Filipinos have been losing hope in our government.
