My entry for this week came from the movie Fireproof. It is entitled While I'm Waiting by John Waller. It is a great song that speaks a prayer of the heart. While waiting for God's promises, I will continue to serve and worship you... Listen and be inspired.

MY TOP 5 BIBLE VERSES

However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace.
Acts 20:24

"I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep.
John 10:14-15

O God, you are my God,
earnestly I seek you;
my soul thirsts for you,
my body longs for you,
in a dry and weary land
where there is no water.
Psalm 63:1

I have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you.
Psalm 119:11

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7

So Thankful for You..

23 comments

It is my first time to join Thankful Thursday. And today I would like to focus on my husband. I am truly thankful for him. I have been blessed by God! I will be listing down 13 reasons why I am thankful for him! (though I can list more reasons...)

I am grateful and thankful to my husband...
- who loves to study the Word of God
- who wants to share with others his passion for the Word of God
- who wants to serve God
- who is responsible and takes commitment seriously
- who cooks great food
- who loves his children
- who is a source of inspiration, direction, strength and stability in our family
- who leads our family towards where God wants us to be
- who provides for us financially
- who tries his best to give us all we need, even our wants and desires
- who is not afraid to try and stand up for what he believes in
- who accompanies me whenever he can
- who supports and loves me

How about you? What are you thankful for today?

Walk the Talk

2 comments
The way we live is very important because more than our words, this is what others see in us. What we do tells everyone who we are and what is in our hearts.

For some time now, I have been looking for a mentor. I know that this is what God wants me to do. There should be an older woman who I really respect, who I look up to... so that I can be trained in the way I should go. For about one month now, I have been joining a discipleship group. I, together with 3 others meet regularly every Monday and share God's word and our lives to each other. It is great because it becomes my check and balance, my accountability group and I am developing friendships.

In the near future, it is also my goal to be able to handle a group of younger women who I can help and train. I know that this is what Paul has said in Titus 2:3-4. But for now, my children are looking up to me. They see what I do and they imitate what I do more than what I say... they are teaching me so much about myself and what I should change.

So, how about you? Are you walking the talk?

Men are Born Good or Bad?

2 comments
Do you believe that all men are born good? Or bad? I believe that men are born bad. Since I had kids, this belief became even more real. Nobody has taught them to grab the toy from the other's hand. Even when he or she has her own toy, he or she covets what the other has! Its in the nature of the kid to protect his or her own interest. How about you what do you think?

So, what does the Bible have to say about this?

Romans 3:10-12

"There is no one righteous, not even one;
there is no one who understands,
no one who seeks God.
All have turned away,
they have together become worthless;
there is no one who does good,
not even one."

Weeds

6 comments
Yesterday, my kids and I did some gardening. I wanted to teach them about weeds and plants. While pulling weeds, I suddenly had an insight. The weeds in our garden were so many already since I didn't pay much attention to our garden for quite some time. Now that I want our garden clean, it is going to take me a long time to remove all of the weeds.

It is the same with sin in our lives. It starts out as a "small" sin. Like refusing to deal with something or someone. Then we allow it to stay in our hearts. After a while, we just realize we have this "big" thing in our hearts. We feel like we are about to explode since we didn't want to deal with it when it was still small, now that it has grown and had taken roots in our heart, it is more difficult to uproot it.

I remember in Hebrews 12:15 it said "See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many."

Time to check our hearts if there are any "weeds" or bitter root we need to uproot.
