4 Hour Work Week?

I have not heard of Tim Ferriss before but as I checked out his website, I realized that he is the author of 4-Hour Workweek book. I was wondering what the 4- Hour Workweek was all about and I saw that it was all about changing your lifestyle. If you have been used to a life doing the usual work routine and you have always dreamed to work on minimal time with maximum output so that you can do things that you enjoy, this book would be of interest to you.

When I was still working in an office many years ago, I was actively involved in church ministry work and also very active socially. I had many travel plans but was always restricted with my 5 day work and desk job. I tried to start my own business with some friends but it didn't work out so we had to close it down. I tried to study about cashflow management because I want my money to work for me. It would be great to be able to invest money on the Philippine stock market and make money work.

I guess the lesson we need to learn from this book and this author is that we should maximize the hours in our day. Life is not just about work but living a life worth waking up to every day.

He Must Increase... I Must Decrease

As you go through life- earning an honest wage, keeping your word, returning good for evil, regarding others more important than yourself - continually give Jesus Christ the credit. Let His glory shine so bright that when your days on earth are done, your loved ones will say "What a great God this disciple served!"

Life is Like Puzzle...

Life is like a puzzle. Each day is a piece of puzzle. We can't appreciate each piece of the puzzle without looking at the bigger picture it gives us. Every color and design can't be seen clearly because we have limited perspective. Same with life, we can't appreciate the trials and what life brings us each day when we only look at each trial every time. We need to step back, and look at life from a bigger perspective. Then we would see what God has been doing all along.

Walk the Talk

The way we live is very important because more than our words, this is what others see in us. What we do tells everyone who we are and what is in our hearts.

For some time now, I have been looking for a mentor. I know that this is what God wants me to do. There should be an older woman who I really respect, who I look up to... so that I can be trained in the way I should go. For about one month now, I have been joining a discipleship group. I, together with 3 others meet regularly every Monday and share God's word and our lives to each other. It is great because it becomes my check and balance, my accountability group and I am developing friendships.

In the near future, it is also my goal to be able to handle a group of younger women who I can help and train. I know that this is what Paul has said in Titus 2:3-4. But for now, my children are looking up to me. They see what I do and they imitate what I do more than what I say... they are teaching me so much about myself and what I should change.

So, how about you? Are you walking the talk?
