Summer is here! Over the weekend, my kids really wanted to put out our inflatable pool. So I agreed... and they had a blast! They were in it almost the whole day on Saturday...
I wanted to take a dip myself!

"We Know You Are The True God..."

Those were the opening words of my daughter as she prayed after our daily devotion and quiet time today. I was surprised that those words came out from her... it just shows that my daughter is growing up and really understands what we talk about every day... I am so blessed and inspired!

May she continue to grow in the grace and in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Thankful Thursday # 22

I am thankful this week that my daughter is now doing fine. She had her asthma attack 2 weeks ago and had atypical infection last week. She was coughing badly. I just am glad that she is all better now. It is really difficult when sickness strikes a member of the family. Thanks be to God!

With the El Nino crisis here in our country, there has been news of rice shortage, water shortage, electricity shortage and price of commodities going higher... it can really make one worry how we are going to survive... but I rest in the knowledge that God will take care of us. We might not have money in our bank accounts, but I know God will provide for all our needs. We just need to obey His will for our lives, He will take care of us. The verse has been a constant encouragement to me for the past weeks... I hope it encourages you too.

Looking Forward

I have a new blog site, it is called Chris Chronicles. I am using Wordpress this time on this site. I want to give Wordpress a try. This blog is using its own domain name too. The domain hosting that I got doesn’t come with any email hosting. I have been playing around with the themes and getting the hang of it. The platform is really quite different from what I have been used to in blogspot.

This new blog will focus more on mixed subjects rather than a single subject. Hopefully, I can post a variety of topics which may include movie or product reviews, women issues, relationships, local and international news and other interesting topics. I look forward to meeting more people through this new blog and hoping to make more product reviews too.

Inspirational Insights is almost turning one year old. The 1st blogversary will be on May. I am still thinking if I should host a contest or giveaway. My sincerest hope is that in the 1 year that this blog has existed, I have been able to inspire other bloggers and visitors in my own little way. I am planning to write more interesting contents and more inspiring stories to come from this blog.

A Tribute To Family

I don't know when it started,

Or how it all began.

But God created families,

As only our Lord can.

He was teaching what it means,

To love, honor, and obey.

He wanted a strong bond,

That we don't see too much today.

He wanted someone to hold us,

And show respect for others.

He wanted someone who'd be gentle,

And so he created mothers.

He wanted someone strong,

A support filled with love.

And so he created fathers,

Sent from heaven up above.

Brothers and sisters came next,

With that, an instant friend.

Someone to look up to,

Someone on who to depend.

When he put them all together,

He was amazed at what he'd done.

He had created a family,

Mother, father, daughter, son.

But look at the family,

Created by only two.

How many we've become,

And all because of you.

We have a lot to be thankful for,

The memories through the years.

The many times together,

Full of laughter, full of tears.

I don't know where we'd be today,

Friday Photo Flashback # 42

Hubby and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary yesterday, so I am sharing our wedding day picture with you :) It was a wonderful and joyful day for both of us. Everyone who mattered were there during our special day and we were both so happy that after almost not pushing through, our wedding day came and had my parents blessings too. (Well, my parents didn't approve of us getting married in the beginning!)

Girls Talk: Valentines 2010

Our theme this week in Girl's Talk is Valentine's Day 2010. I stayed home the whole day because Kyla was still recovering from her asthma attack. Hubby was busy at the church. Another thing, we don't really celebrate Valentine's Day at all... so I dont have much to post about except for...

I picked a flower from our garden and gave it to my daughter :) I wanted to cheer her up since she was sick. Actually, until today, she is quite sick. I hope she gets to sleep through the night since we got new medication today. May God use the meds to help her get better.

This past week has been very hard since my daughter got sick. She had asthma attacks and when we thought she was getting better, she started coughing again on Monday and still not better by today. We will be bringing her to the doctor again today... With all that is happening.. I just hold on to God's Word...

Pixel Bug Weekend #21

My daughter had her asthma attacks since Wednesday (her birthday!) and so we stayed home most of the time. But we made sure she was able to attend her graduation pictorial at school. I can't believe that she will be graduating from prep already and be a 1st grader soon!

Though summer is a few months away, as early as now, Fresh Air Fund is looking for hosts families this 2010.

Friendly Town host families are volunteers who live in the suburbs or small town communities. Host families range in size, ethnicity and background, but share the desire to open their hearts and homes to give city children an experience they will never forget. Hosts say the Fresh Air experience is as enriching for their own families, as it is for the inner-city children. There are no financial requirements for hosting a child. Volunteers may request the age-group and gender of the Fresh Air youngster they would like to host. Stories about real Fresh Air host families and their New York City visitors are just a click away!

Just In Time!

As a family, we are adjusting financially and sometimes, there are unexpected expenses. Just like my daughter's recent asthma attack and my hubby's diabetes. But God has proved to us his faithfulness... He provided us with finances that would help us pay for the medicines... just in time!

It is inspiring and encouraging to know that God REALLY provides for our daily needs. Even with simple things like when I ran out of soap and my mom suddenly gave me 6 months supply of the soap I use. Isn't God amazing?

Friday Photo Flashback # 41

As I mentioned last week, hubby and I will be celebrating our 9th wedding anniversary this month, I am sharing with you pictures of me and my hubby the whole month :) This pic was taken in the year 2002. We went to Baguio City (again) with my siblings and friends. This was a few months before we got pregnant with our first born who just celebrated her 6th birthday 2 days ago! This is also my last visit to Baguio City, I haven't been back there since. Baguio City is located in northern part of the Philippines and is called the summer capital of the Philippines.

Thankful Thursday # 21

I am thankful this week for my daughter who turned 6! She is a blessing! She loves arts and crafts and she loves to read books. She loves learning. She also loves the Bible and to listen to stories from it. She takes care of her little brother too. She can be hard headed at times though and she has a slow to warm up personality. I am just thankful that God gave me the privilege of being her mom, and to be a stay at home mom to watch her grow and lead her towards God...

Prayer and Fasting Week

Today marks the start of the week long prayer and fasting at Greenhills Christian Fellowship - Sta Rosa. It has been ages since I fasted! But I really want to join the prayer and fasting... so I hope that I would be able to keep my commitment :)

The word I read and meditated upon today is taken from book of Philippians Chapter 3 Verses 7-14.

⁷But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. ⁸What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ ⁹and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith. ¹⁰I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, ¹¹and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.

¹²Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. ¹³Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, ¹⁴I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
