Friday Photo Flashback # 27

When I was still in college, I enrolled myself in the Sign Language Learning Module. Our teachers then were the Deaf college students and it was really exciting to interact with them! I learned not only the American Sign Language but another culture. It was fun and educational and it was some of the best memories I had of my college life!

This was from our graduation day at the Sign Language Learning Module, December 1994.

Inspite of being bullied when he was in high school, he chose to do good towards strangers and help others. He encourages education for those involved in gangs, offering hope and change to these youth who have once taken the wrong path. You can vote for Efren as this year's CNN Hero, but aside from that, let us learn to live our lives like he did. Ordinary people with extraordinary impact.

Tuesday Couch Potatoes : Just Magical

Today's theme is JUST MAGICAL! I can't think of any other movie to feature but this one....

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy has definitely changed the landscape of the cinema. I remember watching the first day showing of each of the trilogy, The Fellowship of the Ring (2001), The Two Towers (2002) and The Return of the King (2003). Each part was truly worth watching!

This weekend's highlight is another birthday party!



If you have been following my blog, you would know that my daughter Kyla doesn't like parties and contests.... so this is Kyla's first time to join a contest in a birthday party like this one! :D


And the party wouldnt be complete without Jollibee himself!
My kids didnt want to have a picture taken with Jollibee so I had to get creative... hehehe

I loved the movie! I felt that it was faced paced and the actor, Tobey Maguire, who played the role of Peter Parker, suited him. I also liked some famous quotes from the movie!

Friday Photo Flashback # 25

My friend Tracey just came home to the Philippines for a few weeks of vacation. I was so glad to spend my yesterday with her. She is one of my closest and dearest friends. I knew her through our church before, she's our youth pastor's wife. I was really sad when they moved back to Canada in 2001. So whenever they come to the Philippines for a visit, I make sure I spend some time with them!

The picture I am sharing now was taken during one of our youth group's missions trip to Bicol in 1999.

Thankful Thursday # 17

1. I am thankful I got to spend a day with my friend Tracey, who came to the Philippines for a vacation. She is a real close friend and I really missed her! It was good hanging out with her and the family today!
2. I am thankful that there were several days that had sunshine, so people in the provinces could recover from the recent typhoon Pepeng.
3. I am thankful that we can share our old clothes and stuff to people who need them more.
4. I am thankful that our car who is 7 years old is still doing great!
5. I am thankful that inspite of a 0 page rank, I am still getting blogging opportunities from some sites!

Thank you Lord Jesus for your faithfulness and unwavering love. You are amazing!

Tuesday Couch Potatoes : Urban Legends

The theme for today is urban legends... I would like to feature Friday The 13th.

The movie mainly focuses on the fictional character of Jason Voorhees, who drowned at Camp Crystal Lake as a boy due to the negligence of the camp staff. Decades later, the lake is rumored to be "cursed" and is the setting for a series of mass murders. Jason is featured in all of the films, either as the killer or the motivation for the killings.

Whenever Friday falls on the 13th. it cant be helped but people think that the day brings bad luck. Maybe this movie franchise has really influenced the minds of the people.

Our weekend was filled with activities... it started with Toby trying out his new t-shirts and shorts. I decided to put out his gifts and let him try it on since he has this habit of changing clothes every now and then...



and then on Saturday morning, we had breakfast with the kids at McDonald's and of course, they loved playing at the playground...
