Aloha Friday - Dad

"In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response." To participate just post your own question on your blog, head over to An Island Life, and fill out Mr. Linky.

My question:

Since its Father's Day on Sunday, what is your favorite memory of your dad?

My favourite thing I used to do with my dad was our 11 p.m. trips to a fast food place in Texas called "Whataburger." Why 11 p.m.?? Well, they are a 24 hour joint, and 11 p.m. is when they started serving breakfast foods! We LOVED their sausage, egg and cheese taquitos and didn't want to wait till morning!

My Papa is an active 85 (yes, I'm a 50ish Posh Mam - ha!) and my best memory of him is driving to the cabin on the wk-ends and watching him get everything ready for us - it was so wonderful and they still have that cabin and when we get to Nebraska we all LOVE to up there and just hang out!

My dad would nap in the afternoons, and when he'd wake up he'd have a cup of coffee. Sometimes he would let me sit on his lap and take the first sip. It was very sweet, and to this day I love coffee !
