New Car

Now that hubby has decided to pursue his pasturing full time, his schedule will be jam-packed and he will be travelling from one place to another more often. I am praying that I will be able to practice my driving more this coming 2010. If we will be blessed with another car, the better too! This should help me in particular, so that we won’t have to keep tagging along or his schedule won’t be spread too thin because of us.

Now that I am looking into driving, I think it is a must that I become more familiar with cars and its reviews. There are several cars that are coming out in 2010. I checked them out. The list includes the Kia Forte. Kia Forte is reviewed as the new bread-and-butter of Kia. It was reviewed as looking good at every angle outside. Toyota Venza is Toyota’s latest offering in its crossover wagon series. Toyota made it clear that its not an SUV. It seems pretty promising. If you are interested in hybrid hatchbacks, you better check out Toyota Prius Specs for more information. Now if you are into supercars, you must not miss the Dodge Viper. Check out the Dodge Viper pics to see for yourself! The review from CarConnection.com gave it a 10/10 in style and performance. That is pretty impressive, isn’t it?

Buying a new car is out of the budget but who knows? God might touch someone’s heart and help us with another car soon! Definitely, something to look forward to this coming new year!

Finally, a Godmother!

For the longest time, no one is getting me as a "godmother" of their child... but I was really surprised and honored that Pehpot of Make or Break got me as one of the "ninangs" of her little girl, Sati. The baptismal happened on Sunday December 27. I missed the event as there was a conflict in my schedule since Sundays are church days and hubby being assistant pastor can't miss the worship service :( I don't drive so that explains why I wasn't able to attend... after seeing their pictures, I wish I was there too... now, I want to make up by giving Sati a gift. I need some suggestions, what should I send Sati?

Girls Talk: Christmas Tradition

Our Girl's Talk this week is about Christmas Traditions... Our yearly tradition during Christmas Day is that we are hosting lunch for my family and my hubby's family. It is sort of a thanksgiving lunch treat from us since the whole year through, they are the ones who always invite us or treat us to lunch or dinner. Of course, it is hubby who does the cooking, I am just an assistant! This year would be challenge since its the first Christmas we don't have a helper anymore...

Thankful Thursday # 20

I am so thankful for I have just celebrated my birthday yesterday... and I have been blessed with loved ones and family members who love me.... I am grateful to the Lord for giving me another year to spend with my family. As I start a new year, may I fulfill God's calling for our lives. Hubby has decided to go into full-time pastoral ministry starting January. He will be the assistant pastor of the satellite church here in Sta Rosa Laguna of Greenhills Christian Fellowship.

I pray that I will be the helpmeet he needs me to be and that I can support him in his ministry. I also pray that I will be able to fulfill my role as a pastor's wife for the glory of God.

Thank you Lord for all that you are doing and for giving us this privilege of serving you.

Proverbs 31:29

(image taken from heartlight)

Women are expected to take on different roles. Women can easily adapt to the role which is required of her. But sometimes, we have to evaluate our lives if we are living it according to what the Bible has stated... Proverbs 31 reminds me today what I should really be doing...

I don't want to do what is expected by society... what I want is to do is what God wants me to do!
When I leave this place, I want to be remembered as one who lived her life in service to God. So in everything I do now, whether it is to support my husband or to nurture the kids or teach them at home... I do it all for the Lord.

It is never easy. This is why I need the Holy Spirit to fulfill God's plan for my life... and live it daily!

Payday Loans

Christmas is just around the corner! If we are not careful, this season can bring many unexpected expenses. For people who work in regular jobs, this is the time when bonuses are given out. But because of the recent calamities and crisis, many companies are giving out advances to its employees instead. Payday loan is a common way of helping the employees with their need without having to wait for their year-end bonus to arrive.

My pick for this weeks is Legends of the Fall. I loved this movie back then and it was one of those unforgettable movies of Brad Pitt.

Set in the Rocky Mountains of Montana in the early 1900s, this is a tale of love, betrayal, and brotherhood. After being discharged, Colonel Ludlow decides to raise his three sons in the wilds of Montana, where they can grow up away from the government and society he has learned to dispise. The three brothers mature and seem to have an unbreakable bond, until Susanna enters their lives. When Samuel, the youngest of the three, returns from college he brings with him his beautiful fiance, Susanna. The eldest son, Alfred, soon finds himself in love with his brother's fiance, and things get worse when he discovers a growing passion between Susanna and Tristan. Colonel Ludlow's favorite son, Tristan is willful and as wild as the mountains. As the brothers set out to fight a war in Europe, suspicion and jelousy threatens to tear apart their once indestructable bond. Written by saunders11@yahoo.com

We attended ParenTIN.tv's Christmas with a C(l)ause Party today! It was held in the Podium from 2-6pm. The kids enjoyed! There were face painting, scrapbooking, games, a bubble show and a magic show!

Aside from that, the highlight of the party was to bring toys, books or clothes for Shepherd of the Hills Foundation. The kids lined up and dropped their gifts on a huge box which would be shared to other children!

It was a fun time for the family! Thanks to ParenTIN.tv for hosting such an event!

Political Issues Online

With the end of the recent filing of candidacy of the candidates for the national and local elections on 2010, people are now hungry for more information on the different candidates. The local TV stations have created their own question and answer type of programs for the presidential candidates. Many people have tuned in to these programs but it is not enough to know the candidates in-depth.

The internet has allowed people to be connected through social networking sites and the people to voice out their opinions. It is a great idea that a site like Politicalarena.com has surfaced! It is the first Philippine socio-political networking site which is geared towards voter education and its a site where voters can interact personally with the candidates. There are different political issues being address on the political forum. Politicalarena.com operates under the network of 88DB.com, the Philippines’ first rich media service portal. The site is in close partnership with COMELEC, PPCRV and Youth Vote Philippines.

I have registered and checked out the forum. It is divided into different categories already which allow one to post their questions easily. I posted a question regarding healthcare in the Philippines. I hope that the presidentiables would find time to respond to the question.

Joining such a site also allows me to see what other people from the other parts of the Philippines are saying about the different issues in the Philippines. It gives me a broader view of our country’s true state. And this will help me in deciding who to vote for in the coming elections.

This picture was taken sometime in 1995 I think... This is me and my closest friend in college, Kathleen! We were on our way to a field trip. Kathleen has always been there for me and she knows when to cheer me up and when to listen to me. Kath has been a source of strength and a friend I can count on during college days! She was my classmate and my first non-Chinese close friend.

I feel sad that I wasn't able to keep in touch with her after college, not as much as I would like to. I hope that through this blog post, she would know that she will always be special to me!
