What I Learned From Do Hard Things #1
I was blessed with a good book recently. The Book's Title is Do Hard Things. I will post several posts about the lessons I learned from this book. I really think its a good book, not only for the youth but for us adults as well! It pushes one to think and rethink about how you have lived your life so far and what changes you can make... it is never too late!
What does the Bible say about teenagers... according to authors Alex and Brett Harris, none.
There is no mention of the word teenagers or adolescence in the scripture. Instead what we will see is 1 Corinthians 13:11, "When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me." I think that is a good point. God expects us to be a child when we are children then as young adults, we are to act as adults. No in between like what culture has taught us... It doesn't mean though that teeners are not going to experience any adjustments or hardships, but how will one react through these changes is what the Bible addressed. In 1 Tim 4:12 it says "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity."
