Dear Dora

Dear Dora,

Happy birthday to you! I would like to thank you for teaching my kids to speak Spanish and for entertaining them daily for the past 5 years. You have been part of their day daily and you have been my daughter's favorite for some time too. Thank you for teaching the kids how to share and how to help.

Now that my daughter is 6 years old, she doesn't watch you as often, I want you to know that you will always be part of her childhood days forever.

From a grateful mom,
Chris

Family Vacations Aren’t as Complicated as an Online Casino

If your family is like most in America today, chances are you have kids of several different ages and with several different interests – and that can add up to disastrous trips and family vacations. The younger ones want to go someplace with lots of age-appropriate attractions, the older kids do not want to be with the younger kids – and the teenagers do not want to go at all! Certainly, planning fun and relaxing trips with the whole family can be tricky, but with a little preplanning and research on what each child would like best, a successful family vacation does not need to be as complicated as winning big with an online casino.

The first thing you can do to ensure everyone is happy for most of the trip is to identify the most important thing each child wants out of the vacation. If the little ones want to splash around at a water park for one afternoon, build that into your vacation itinerary. If the older kids would rather hit the pool or lake for water sports like jet skiing or wave running, make that a priority on a different day. If every child feels understood and appreciated for his/her own interests, chances are they will be less likely to put up a fight when it is not their turn.

Although it is important that the kids are happy and relaxed, it is equally vital that as parents, you build your own agenda into your vacation as well. Choose one night to do whatever you want – whether it is a fancy dinner splurge or a trip to a local museum or historical site you know the kids would not enjoy. Take advantage of the on-site child care offered by many hotels and family resorts or bargain with the older teens in the family to watch the clan for the night. Whatever you decide, remember it’s important that everyone gets to enjoy the time off together.

Today I am thankful that my daughter did well in her quarterly portfolio review last week with the academic consultant. It is our first year to homeschool and I am so grateful and thankful to God that we are enjoying, learning and improving each day. Though there are still other things I'd like to improve on, I know that because of God's grace, we are good and that this is the right decision for our family.

We Were Featured!

Well, I was excited when one of our churchmates who works for a magazine company asked for our love story.. she was featuring cross-cultural couples, specifically, pure Chinese and Filipino. So yesterday, she finally handed me a copy of the magazine... and this is a copy of our short story :)

Dear Best friend,

I am thankful that you are part of my life. You always take care of me when I get sick... You always think of me and the kids... No matter how busy you get, I know that you always try to make time for me and the kids. I appreciate this very much and I am grateful that you lead our family towards the Lord!

I am glad that you are my best friend. God has called us together and it is because of His love and grace that we are what we are today. Always know that I am here to support, love and pray for you.

I Love you always,
Chris

Since it is my brother's birthday today, I am thankful to God for him! I have many happy memories with him when we were still kids... and despite our age difference of 7 years, I am glad to have had good memories with him. Now that we are older, I am praying for him... that he would come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Now that I have my own kids, it is only now that I truly comprehend how obedience matters to a parent. I realize that it does break a mother's heart if the kids won't obey... So it must be really heart breaking for God if we read His word and disobey him. We need to realize that obedience to the Word of God is most important in our life. When we obey, we would have the greatest treasures in the world!

Minamahal kong Panginoon,

Nagmamahal,
Chris

After being sick and hospitalized, then my daughter being sick too, then problems and situations beyond our control happening around us... These are the times when we realize, truly, it is God who is our immovable ROCK... dependable. faithful. everlasting.

Letter's That I'll Never Send: 3 Wishes

Dear Genie:

My first wish would be good health to my family. I was just recently hospitalized due to Dengue and Typhoid, and I could only wish that my hubby and kids would be healthy. Lately, my daughter is having fever and her eyes are really red. We had her blood checked today and I am glad that she tested negative for Dengue. Tomorrow, we are bringing her to the pedia again with the urinalysis and CBC results, so here is hoping that everything is normal.

My second wish would be a new car. Our car has already been showing signs of old age lately, even after coming from the auto repair shop, the noise still seems to be there. So prayerfully, we are hoping for a new car.

Last wish, can i wish for better days ahead? Well, this goes for everyone. Financially, physically, emotionally and spiritually....

Love,

Chris

I was hospitalized last Thursday due to Dengue Fever and Typhoid. I am thankful that my parents were there to support me and thankful that they paid the bill. I got out of the hospital on Tuesday.

Thanks be to God!

Though now, my daughter is under observation because she now has fever. Please pray for her recovery.
