WFW - Matthew 11:28

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
Matthew 11:28

I attended a Bible study last week and I learned that this promise was only given to God's children. I used to think that this was a general promise... but based on the context, it is a special promise only to His chosen ones.

I sometimes get overwhelmed with all the decisions I need to make and the things I have to do, but this promise does bring me comfort and encouragement. I am glad that He gave us this promise!

May we find rest and comfort in Him alone!

    Indeed, Chris, he has done everything for us and has given us everything, including his shoulder to lean on whenever we're weary. His Words are our assurance that whatever He has promised, He shall surely bring it to pass. God bless.

    I think a lot of people use verses like this but never really understand that God's promises are only for His children. It makes me sad that they are wanting God's blessings but not His Salvation.
